can a UK mental health nurse work in america or canada?
Hi All,
I need your advice. Am currently studying for a degree in Mental Health Nursing in the UK, but I will like to work and settle in Canada or america.
Can a UK Mental Health nurse work in Canada or america? I am quite concerned as most people has said that an adult nursing degree would be better accepted to gain registration in these country than mental health nursing.
Hope to hear from you all.
Thank you

So would you try and train in the Adult Course to leave the UK? Not good motivation for a prospective Nurse. Yes you can find work in Canada as a Mental Health Nurse but first you need to qualify then get a couple of years UK experience under your belt before applying. Just Google the subject.

The US would be No as they are general trained.
As previously mentioned a few provinces accept RMN but we have seen a couple post here that they met requirements finally passed exam only to not be able to find a job.
Really the UK trains for UK standards not elsewhere in the world so you may even as an Adult trained find you do not meet requirements for Canada or the US
