Default Diploma nurse

I am currently a diploma nurse looking to move to Australia, has anyone done this or do I need to top up to a degree first? Apologies if there is a similar thread on here

From all recent threads about nursing in Australia a degree is essential as it is required for registration with the appropriate Australian body.

Thank you for replying, I did think that but wondered if there had been any exceptions.

No it is a relatively new rule, so they are unlikely to make exceptions.

No, there are no exceptions, but there is apparentlynow a way you can top up your diploma to a degree. If no one on here has the details of the courses I suggest contacting AHPRA.

I notice that in the UK they are going to start a new qualification course to allow nursing assistants etc to become nurses, it has, apparently, a degree qualification built into the course, but appears not to be a degree. I wonder how this will go down with other countries?

That will be interesting to see how that evolves if it's not a complete degree, i wonder if they will then introduce registration for them too
