Seriously.

Sand flies ( black flies) & mozzies.

It is not fun and if you do have a reaction it is still not fun.

Natural remedy's? Do not make me have a hollow laugh. I so wish it were so. I really do after 12 years.

I am beginning to think AndyCampbell is pulling our legs on all manner of things. I sort of find that fun but as someone on the sharp receiving end I also find it sort of not nice really.Mainly because I nearly karked it because this lot here were so clueless & did not have the means or wherewithal.

Look. Meds . The kind one might take for granted anywhere else cost a flippin load here. Even then you pries them out of the docs with your cold dead hands as they are governed by what they are supposed to prescribe.

So , we endure the idea of the natural remedy which is a whole lot of silly dangerous laughs.

Mind there is the whole lot of silly laughs where those dying cannot get the meds they need because of the ...cost?

So. Really. Let's not go there love. Really . Let's not

Just to note that a 50/50 mixture of Dettol and baby oil is a very effective insect repellent.

Discovered this on a boat trip in Doubtful Sound - the skipper had an industrial sized spray bottle. He also used it to treat scrapes and grazes.

It certainly keeps the sand flies off.

Ah, so it is okay to say that I am pulling everyone’s leg on all manner of things ?

Do I have to justify what I say on here ?

My sister actually has a natural remedy company that produce such products but alas I am pulling your leg/s ?

Dare I mention that Scotland has midges and you can rest assured (not pulling anyone’s leg) that we don’t rush out and spray chemicals on. The preferred is - natural products.

I have a 12 y/o with very sensitive skin and he was away up in the highland last year for a week. So it is part of a parent toolbox to know what works and what is natural is best.

So – I do actually know some stuff

Yeah, the bugs think so as well.

Better than Deet and doesn't do bad things to your clothes.
It also works against the midge in Scotland (although walking fast also seems to work).

Just a note as a non-Kiwi and relatively new to this board.

There seems to be some confusion over some posts by those with the signatures of Moderators (or similar).
I am assuming that most of the posts are purely personal experience, and are not posted as Moderators.
I think AndyCampbell may be assuming that if a Moderator posts, then it implies Moderation.
It might be helpful to clarify the difference between Moderator action and Moderator participation.

It is particularly tricky if someone who has the rank such as Moderator seems to be disagreeing with you or picking on you - are they pulling rank or just expressing a purely personal opinion?

Just my personal view. Peace and love.
