About all I'd miss would be Humming Birds and a place to park

I don't think there are skunks in the UK either (if they are I never smelled/saw one before). Six years of living here and I still can't tolerate that smell *gag*

I don't know how I did it, but - I got used to the smell of skunks! Think ... 'garlic' ... very strong garlic ...

So, sounds like you would prefer it back in the UK. Why don't you go back - are you here on an assignment you can't get out of, or in a relationship that keeps you here?

I'd miss the weather - it has only rained twice in my neighborhood in the past 5 months, for 2 hours each time.
I'd miss long, free-flowing roads that go on forever - driving up I-5 into Oregon, or down US-101 to LA, or down US-395 from Tahoe to Death Valley, or the roads through much of Arizona or Utah ... coupled with cheap, no frills, motels along the way.
Cheap gas, low-cost, high quality cars.
Fantastic food, available late. Restaurants that know what service means.
Showers that work.
Clean toilets in most establishments, including bars and restaurants.
A great job that pays lots of money, and a boss that lets me get on with it ...

It looks like you live in MA which is one of the most populated states in the US, so yeah i guess you probably get to feel like a parking hero.
The fact is for the majority of us in the USA there are many more parking spaces that are bigger than in the UK and you don't have to pay for them. How can anyone disagree with that?

I can agree with you on US 395 and I-5 I once drove through the night along 395 and in 7 hours saw 3 other trucks heading the other way
Unfortunately it's far different out here on the east coast, where I spend countless hours sitting in jams most days and the roads are built like f**kin cheese graters
