see, I have issue with the faux posh in dubai. The truth is it's all shit, just expensive. I was at Cipriani, DIFC - would't really recommend it and not a patch on Zuma/Nandos/LPM

There are only very few faux posh places I think deserve to charge what they do. Zuma is one of them. Rib Room is another.

Some of my friends love to try out these pretend posh places. We went to Gaucho for Saturday lunch. Had the (sunday) roast beef. It was served on multiple wood panels and was very average. The highlight of the session for me was when my friends' child vommed on the floor

It's nice... yes, but it's not like amazing. I also find it very samey, the menu never changes. That said, I'm not a foodie and have never found a restaurant amazing.

Had a nice meal at Ting Tong Thai at the JW last night. They did a good job.

If you like French food, the prices you pay compared to the quality you get is very fair. So I think. And I like French food.

Agreed , i've never been blown away by a restaurant here in Dubai . The closest was Verre and that was over 12 years ago.

There's a lot of very good places to eat here but no amazing ones

I don't think it's all shit. I appreciate and thoroughly enjoy a good steak. Lots of places here do good steak. It's overpriced but what can you do?

Never been to Zuma or LPM, I see them as places to go to say you've been to on Facebook. I do love a Nandos.
