Re: AOS Questions
While I was unable to work (O-3 dependent visa, now in the throes of AOS but have EAD/AP in hand) I just used to say I was a kept woman!

Re: AOS Questions
Haha! I start on Monday as I have a friend over from the U.K. visiting this week.
The initial few weeks not working was great, it was nice to unwind after the stress of moving but I've been pulling my hair out ever since.
The company I'm working for has been in Denvers Top 10 companies for 6 years in a row and all the reviews on Glassdoor are really positive so I'm definitely excited. Should make waiting for other immigration stuff easier as I'm not sitting around the house for the majority of the day!

Re: AOS Questions
Received my EAD card this morning.
It isn't a combo card as I received my AP separately and as mentioned above it does specifically state on it "Not valid for re-entry into the US".
Very happy it arrived!
I-485 has still been set to Ready to be scheduled for an interview for well over a month now so will give it another month before inquiring about that.

Great! Mine is still on "Fingerprint fee has been received". Will give 'em a couple more months before I ask any questions.

Re: AOS Questions
Pointless update:
I-485 status has been sat on "Interview ready to be scheduled" for nearly three months now.
Is it worth raising a service request or info pass appointment for this?
I would've thought the interview would've been scheduled by now even if the appointment date was much later in the year.

Re: AOS Questions
Spoke with our congressman today who is friends with my MoL who checked on our progress (definitely quicker than making an InfoPass appointment and then having to take time off work.
Basically we're in line for a appointment and we just have to wait and to allow another 2-3 months for the interview to be scheduled.
Pretty frustrated as I'd like to know whether I have my green card so I can stay here with my wife.
However it doesn't look like there's anything we can do apart from wait.

Re: AOS Questions
Sadly no update on AOS, still stuck on waiting to be scheduled for interview 4 months later.
Me and my wife are potentially moving to Alabama (Birmingham) as the company I work for has a office there and we'd like to buy a house, which we can't do in CO due to prices here.
My question is, is it worth waiting til AOS is done before moving or can we do it while we're awaiting interview/approval?
We can move in a month or in 6 months time it's really no bother I was just curious if anyone was more clued up on this.

Re: AOS Questions
It's better NOT to move during the AOS process, because USCIS is not the best at updating addresses, so you run a high risk of missing important mail, such as your AOS interview letter.

Re: AOS Questions
Thanks Ian & Rene.
I'd like to think we'll be called for an interview around November/December time as according to USCIS Denver is processing I-485's dates in August.
Also, I couldn't actually find a field office for AL. Am I correct in assuming that Alabama applicants use the Atlanta GA office?
