Quite. I don't recognize this picture of American supermarket shoppers at all, perhaps that how it is in the vegetarian aisles.

The thing that would wind Trump up the most would be if the press focussed on Pence, Tillerson, etc, and kind of ignored Trump.
I think impeachment proceedings will start before the November 2018 mid term elections, probably a month or two before that, but given that Pence is even worse than Trump (worse in the sense that he's less stupid but shares the same goals), it is certainly time for the press to go after him.

Just as Spiro Agnew had to go before Nixon went into impeachment procedures.

You don't want Pence in a position to pardon the SOB.

No fan of Pence, obviously, but he is the number two. Not sure what grounds Trump can be impeached upon? Apparently, stupidity and mental incapacity are not valid reasons in the American system, and it would have to be some kind of tax fraud or criminal issue. Admittedly, it should be within the imagination of the Feds or CIA to concoct something, but they do seem to be taking their sweet time.

It's predicted that next week Trump will recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. More shit in the shitstorm.

He's playing a dangerous game there, provoking the Arab world against the US. I don't think his constituency cares for Jews more than Arabs so it's hard to see where that sells. Meanwhile Mueller is closing in on Kushner. I'd risk a few bucks on the likelihood of Trump pushing Kushner under the bus and adopting an anti-Semitic position consistent with his other far right views.

But Pence's constituency which held their nose voting for Trump are very much pro-Israel. Driving around the Midwest garden signs " I stand with Israel" I ran across more often than any other signs posted in gardens.

I agree he will throw Kushner under the bus, and who knows who else. I am trying to remember any other President in my lifetime who lost so many people in his first year in office- maybe just impression but seems like a fair amount of turnover and potential turnover.

Unless of course they also impeach Pence as well.

25 amendment, section 4, allows the cabinet to vote a president gone nuts, out of office.
( Apparently, Bannon warned Trump that the 25th amendment was the biggest threat to Trump. Trump said he had never heard of it)

Good point. I think I heard that he could be removed, but because of the collateral damage to the Republican Party (controlling both houses) it's something they were unlikely to do?

There does seem to be increased speculation on his capacity in the last few days, but as much as I dislike him, I do wonder if it's a media vendetta.

I suppose a presumption of innocence applies to bizarre presidents too.

They could always open an investigation, issue indictments, subpoena evidence etc... oh wait, that's old news. Trying to, and firing the people who are trying to find the dirt on him and constantly discrediting the investigation in the press and social media could be hampering their efforts. Why do you think Comey started tweeting bible verses about justice and retribution as soon as Flynn started singing? If forensic accountants can prove that Trump companies laundered money for the Russian mob back in the 90's when Vladimir Putin essentially controlled organised crime in St Petersburg as well as the KGB, (and when Trump wanted to build hotels in Russia) then they have a reason for Russian collusion in the election, (control of a blackmail-able president, obviously), and can hang him for treason, along with any of his accomplices and extended family who are implicated, from the middle of the Skyway Bridge. If you don't like the hanging then maybe they can do a prisoner swap, trading Trump as an agent of a foreign power for a number of political prisoners in Russia.
Passing the tax bill gives him ammunition for diversion for a few days, but then he'll have to come up with something new. The WP has an opinion on his outbursts and how they're calculated to deflect.

Trump keeps his scheme afloat by moving the goalposts whenever the ball gets too close but unfortunately for him the posts get wider and wider and the pitch gets smaller and smaller. The only way out of this is to start a different game and here he has a number of choices, all bad for the rest of us. What Trump really needs is another World Trade Center-like attack and he's going the right way to get one by p***ing off every lunatic with a grudge against the US, all he has to do is stoke the fire and wait.
