Default Best time to visit Vancouver?

Following the success of our Toronto holiday, we want to experience Vancouver now.

What's the best time of year to go - both for weather and stuff going on?

Flights are cheapest in May by the looks of things, but we were thinking a bit later in the year...

Thanks

Flights are cheapest on Dec 25th and Jan 1. May is shoulder season and higher priced than winter.
Weather
Sun - July - End August is usually OK
October (except this one so far) - April Wet
Rest unpredictable
What stuff going on do you want?

Sept can be a really nice month here, starting to cool but usually lots of sunshine. May is a bit more hit and miss. I had family here last May and the weather was awesome. Generally speaking start of May through the end of sept are the best months.

October can be nice, although starting to really cool. November is when the infamous rainy season tends to start and rain becomes the norm for more than half of the month well into march - very similar to Manchester during the winter months - gloomy and wet.

Good luck

September because it's usually still summery (or can be).

May can be wet and cool or warm and sunny. May has the tail end of the spring flowers, but September? There's something to be said about the sunshine in September and all that golden light.

One more point - if you decide to venture into the mountains in May, there will certainly be snow on the peaks. By September the snow is long gone.

So long as it's a nice September. We have had good ones and wet ones. This year it's been a good one.

Yup - if you can't get here in July or August then September is the next best bet.

September. It's the dirty secret no-one will tell you because we want to keep the late summer all to ourselves without hordes of tourists trampling all over the beaches. Ssshhh!

This year it's been gorgeous right up to October.

Late Feb/March for skiing. If you're lucky and it's a late season.
