Please Help
Hi,
I am a midwife in the UK hoping to immigrate to Australia in the near future. My sister is a paeds nurse living and working in Australia and applying for her citizenship in April she has been living in Australia for the past 4 years. I have signed up to this site as a last resort and plea for help. My father is a loving caring man and has give both me and my sister the life we have today he is 57 years old.
However in his youth (age 21/22) so over 30 years ago he was arrested for some minor things but was never imprisoned. he met my mum and has a loving family, he was so so young and made mistakes in his young years. To cut to the chase myself my mum and dad applied for a tourist visa to visit my sister and see the amazing life she has made for herself mine and my mums got accepted straight away however after being honest and truthful my dads got sent to the vaccu to be reviewed.
This was 5 years ago in April. I repeat 5 YEARS AGO. we have sent every single document asked of us attempted to call email and send letters but with no help. We have been extremely patient but my sister is now pregnant and my parents are getting no younger and I also hope to immigrate myself. my father just wants thre opportunity to visit his daughter and see her home and meet his grandchild just for 2 weeks.
Is there anyone out there who knows how we can get some answers as to why it is taking so long for just a tourist visa. We just want a yes or no to see if he can enter the country. surely he can’t be penalised this much for some silly mistakes he made in his youth over 30 years ago.
I beg, if anyone knows of someone we can contact or how to go about this please.

Re: Please Help
I have never heard of a tourist visa taking that long. It might be worth running it past a migration agent.

Could your sister approach her MP and see if he or she can help?

Re: Please Help
VACCU is slow, but not that slow. I would echo the advice to consult a registered migration agent.
However you also need to bear in mind that Australia's borders are closed to tourists for the foreseeable future.
