re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland
Yay, hubby finally got the email! not taking any chances. I think he is trying to book a flight to London for this Thursday to hand in his passport. otherwise knowing our luck his medicals will expire by the time they send it back to him. Its been a loooooong road. Thanks Caleo and everyone who has been so supportive and helpful since October.

Thanks David.
Will you be without a PP in Canada? Just wondering how it works if you are on a 6 month visit and you don't get your PP back before you have to leave the country (to extend your visit or go back to the UK)?
Also:
1) Before you send it to London will you pop over to the States and get a new 6 month visitor stamp or does it not work like that?
2) For London is says the average time for 80% of cases is 9 months (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...fc-spouses.asp). Seems like most people are getting their PP back from London much quicker? Is the 9 months for something other that spouse sponsorship?
3) Has anyone managed to get a 12 month visitor visa instead of 6 months when entering Canada? I read you can do this if you are waiting for PR

I'm curious now, where does it say that your medicals have been received in ECAS? Will it go into "In Process" without them, if you did them beforehand and submitted the receipt with the application?

if u did yr medicals before and submitted the form/receipt with the entire application, then under step 2 it should read:
we received *sponsored person's name* application for permanent residence on xx/xx/xxxx
medicals results have been received.
Mine is not in process yet though, so it shows no more than that under step 2.
however if u did yr medicals n had them sent to the london office, it might be that they've received there but cic hasn't updated it on ECAS.
If at all they r missing (God forbid), you'll be informed so and then you'll have to do your medicals again. It will cause a frustrating delay but don't worry, no news is good news.
I can imagine how frustrating it must be for u. hang on in there. you should hear something soon. Wish u all the best

We received *ME*'s application for permanent residence on February 2, 2011.
We started processing *ME*'s application on April 19, 2011.
What unnerves me most is my medicals were a bit special, the chest xray uncovered a cheeky little lung tumour, so I had to borrow the xray to take to the lung specialist at the time, and then return it to the doctors office. They had better have remembered to send it! As an aside, my experience of the Canadian health service has been outstanding.
I wonder if it's worth sending a case specific enquiry to London, it's not 6 months yet but it is pushing towards 5 at this point. Surely they would have requested more medicals from me at this point if they were lost or never made it though?

Don't worry about ecas and medicals. They are all sent to the London office by the dmp. Mine was updated to say received at one stage then disappeared and week later. Ecas is random probably depending on who is inputting your info. I would not worry - going by your timeline and the other pprs on here today it should not be long before you hear anything. They actually wrote to me at one stage to ask for my medical, I just sent them a copy of my receipt and the tracking info from the dmp.

Still trying to get my head around those lovely timelines! Couple of questions...
1) Am I right in thinking you send the med form the Doc gives you with your Application to Miss?
2) Does the Doc send their med form to London or Miss?
3) When people say Meds R'ced in their timeline, does this mean Meds sent by Miss to London?
3) I'm guessing you have to be in the UK to send your PP when requested by London for the Visa? Daft question, but if you are visiting in Canada, you'd have to go home or has anyone even sent their passport from Canada? If you applied to Miss, then went out to Canada is there anyway to get your Visa in your passport in Canada, and then flagpole?
Thx!

Hi we did the outland spousal applicaton from inside of canada my common law parter sent his passport from canada to london via courier. It takes approx 4-6 weeks for them to courier it back to canada. You no longer have to flagpole if you have a immigration office in the city or close to the city you are in. Hope that helps.
I also did mine from inside canada for an outland application. Were you ever contacted by CHC London for further info? I have changed my uk address to my canadian one here and was just concerned incase they sent anything to my uk address I'm no longer at.

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland
I have a question for those a bit further along than I am... My husband got an email 2 weeks ago saying that he had been approved as my sponsor (yay!) and the file had been passed on to London. So far so good. I haven't heard anything since and the website doesn't seem to recognise me, I can log in as my husband and see that he has been approved but nothing else. Do they post on ecas or send you a letter/email to say that the package has arrived in London? I fear the postal strike may have held things up but I thought I would know by now that they had recieved it.
Any experiences to put my mind at rest?!

Hi BTownSardar,
although I have already made my application, I'm curious to know how one can do an outland sponsorship from inside Canada. what are the conditions for that??
Thanks
