Do note though, that you'd only qualify for a BOWP if you're on a TWP, they're not applicable to those on visitor visas or living outside of Canada.

HTH.
Thanks so much for clarifying :-)

Just had a read of this, and wondering, if you haven't received your nomination, but awaiting a decision and the TWP expires, you don't have another LMIA and you have to leave canada, does that mean that your PNP application isn't valid? Because your not actually in canada (but you did have your job offer etc).

We applied for PR (CEC) in March, got our call for medical in Oct. We are hoping all is fine and we will be done in the new year. When I last looked at tuition fees for university (in Ontario at least) there is an allowance for people who have not had the paperwork finalized for PR. Something about getting a letter saying your son has been accepted as eligible. It is all more fuss and paperwork but at least it might be a back up for you in case PR processing time is longer than hoped. It would be worth checking what BC says incase it is different. Good luck to your son!

Thanks for the input and your best wishes IASW (although you've just reminded me of that infuriating song at the Disneyland Paris ride!).

I think what you're referring to is set out in the catchily titled "The Ontario Operating Funds Distribution Manual (October, 2009, updated November 26, 2012). This mentions not being classed as an international student if a person has been approved "in principle" for PR status.

Interestingly, it also says an international student is eligible for domestic fee status if "They are a visitor (and his/her dependants) who is authorized to work in Canada having been issued a work permit". I have a TWP and my son is a dependant, so arguably this will cover him.

We'll see - he needs to pass some exams first

Yes, I know that song is so annoying, but I do find "it a small world". In 2009 we visited some friends, from England, who lived in Maple Ridge! It was the first time I had ever been to Timmies as we were living in the USA at the time and went to Vancouver to renew our US temporary workers visa.

I would be stressing too but my son does not start uni (if he gets the grades) until 2016 so hopefully we have timed everything well. Let us know if the PR comes through in time.
