Default can i stay longer?

Okay guys here is a question i seek advice on.
I'm currently studying at the University of Plymouth in England. I'm coming to the end of my first year. After my second year i intend to take a year out and work in Canada, there is a worldwide company that can sort this out for me (BUNAC). My grandparents and Uncle reside in Mississauga ON. If after the year i decide that i would like to stay permanently would this be possible? By then i would record about 70 points on the immigration test.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Regards
Jeff

Check out the CIC website for immigration requirements.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.html

Without knowing specifics I would say (but i am not an expert) Grandparents and Uncles cannot sponsor you as a family member, unless some other circumstances covered on the cic site apply. Even if they can sponsor you, you have to leave the country till your case is approved.

Assuming family sponsorship is not an option, For "skilled worker" you must have at least one years full time paid work experience. Will you meet this, plus have the required settlement finds? I am not sure BUNAC experience will count.

Will you still have the 70 points without your degree? Remember there is no guarantee the points requirement will not have gone back up by then If you leave without graduating it will reduce education points for skilled worker. Apart from anything else it will also seriously limit job oportunuities for you here. Despite doom and gloom postings about recognition of qualifications, an english degree is a lot better than no degree.

Without knowing the details, I would advise do the BUNAC year, see if you like the place, then finish your degree in the UK, get a job for a year or two, save some money and then apply.

Good Luck

Iain
