I'm a bit thick on things like this so here's
My question. Is is better to have your
Money going into a Sterling or Euro account
Here or to transfer from wherever?

My self diffrent from others I us ATM direct into my Hand I have bad dealings with Banks hear, but only if I run out of my pig bank I have to be in uk twice a year for oncolgey so I save and save then bring back the cash stuff under the pillow till rates are good then change digger

Rural Hungary

Depends on your personal financial situation. If large amounts are being transferred then worth looking at the options. Might not work for you but usually the better way is to transfer from wherever to Hungary using a forex company as you will get a better rate than the banks.

If you require forints for day to day or other expenses then open an account in Hungary that accepts forints and transfer using a forex company for large amounts for smaller amounts you can get very good exchange rates at shopping malls in Hungary

If you get paid in sterling then also have some way of accumulating that in a UK account as is usual with FX the rate goes bad just when you need the cash
we had 382 friday and could easily see 348 a week on friday

I have had Bank account in Hugary thay rip of to much of account, mantance charges to start with just holding account 3,128fh per year no way kepp my Brass wear I no it,s safe, cash when high starve when too lowe digger

Most of my money is in forints so I lose more than I gain when the forint is weak. I took some from a UK account using an OTP machine today and got a rate of 364. that was doing the currency change at the OTP end. I don't know what rate I would have got from the Clydesdale but they would have made a charge for changing the currency.

Halifax Bank charges 1.50 pence per foreigan cash fee pluss 2.75% non stg trans fee so if you draw 100,00fh =286.15 pence is carged to account pluss the charges, this as 10 Jan 2014 so now no ATM unless I desprate uk march bring back cash use the wiefs cash on IOU it,s cheaper digger

I have both an Hungarian Sterling account and a Forint account.

I transfer money from my UK Building Society account into my Hungarian GBP account every six months. As it goes into the account in Sterling I have to make a journey to the the bank to fill in all the forms necessary to convert it into Forint and transfer them to my Forint account which allows me to draw cash from the ATM or pay bills with my card.

Occasionally I've had my UK money transfered straight into my Forint account, but prefer not to do it that way because you get fewer forint to the Pound than you do if you make the exchange in Hungary.

My OH Spanish Pension will be paid direct
In to Euro Account here in Hungary
Just not sure if would of been better paid
In to Spanish account and transfer.

Our bank upped it charges last year and so we only use it when absolutely necessary.

Don't think it makes much difference if you transfer from Euro to forint here or in Spain. Just transfer to your forint account when rates are good though take into account any charges.
