I have sold my old car 25th March and registered the sale at my local Document Office in Keszthely, but today I received a notice from "Nemzeti Ado-es Vamigazgatosaga" to pay tax on my old car. Previous to that I paid the Tax demand from my local government Office through a posta slip. I have not notified my local Office to date. Not sure what to do.

My understanding is that the annual car tax is payable by the person owns (owned) the car on Jan 1st. If you sell the car on Jan 2nd - tough! As I said, my understanding.
