Re: Banks
Most strange.
I went into the OTP branch in Zalaegerszeg within the last 1 and a half months and they wanted my tax number. I presented my home ownership papers, passport, UK drivers license and I had a Hungarian with me to help with translation, a bit of cash but without a tax number they/he was not interested.
I am going to try another bank tomorrow.

Re: Banks
I explained that as well. I even showed the suit with a hole my national insurance card.
So I am thinking it is more than likely the individual as well. I am going over that way shortly and will make a point of going into the same bank, without an interpreter and see if I can speak to someone else. If they will open the bank account on the details some have mentioned on here then I will actively seek out the suit with an a hole and see what he has to say about that.

We have had "hole in a suit", "suite with a hole" and "suit with an a hole" - what are these please?

Maybe the a hole in a suite is an active member of this forum!
Anyway. K&H account opened in Zalaegerszeg. They DID ask of a tax number. I supplied my NI card and address card/reg card, passport. NI card accepted and account opened without any drama.
