Meters in Taxis in Goa !
Can pigs fly......just read in the Times of India that it is now mandatory for all taxis to have a digital GPS meter with printer in every taxi operating in the state or have i read it wrong ? This is a game changer, a world changing event on par with with a near miss from an asteroid or that The Pope once wore a condom in his misspent youth..... Im gobsmacked into silence.......The Taxi Mafia beaten into submission by The BJP and of course falling revenues from the missing millions who have voted with their suitcases and gone to Thailand or Kerala ! Those surly sons of soil, or soiled spoiled over indulged thugs who have been conning tourists for decades and singled handidly ruined tourism for foreign and domestic alike.Common sense has prevailed at last.

It said taxi-cabs - is a tourist taxi a taxi-cab?
... and even if it is, have you seen the official rates?

They have also announced they are going on strike but will anybody notice ? Does this only apply to Yellow and black cabs ? Tourist cabs ?

Anywhere you have tourists from the affluent countries of the world you will find taxi prices inflated. Tourism can be a curse once it reaches certain levels. A form of pollution !

If the system works GPS metering to work out the cost expect to travel from Calingute to Baga via Mapsua and Arpora.....they need to send a delegation to the Hackney Cab Association here in London to discover how to fiddle the system without complaints.Mind you they are under attack from The Tories now that hire cabs all use GPS to find their way about.No knowledge needed anymore especially when smart phones are more intelligent than the people using them !
