"Application Not Straightforward"
I've been waiting with severe anxiety for the past 3 months, and recently reconciled myself to my application taking 50-60 business days as most people seem to be in the same boat at the moment even though it is a priority application. However today is working day 59 and I just got an email through from Sheffield....
"Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets." -- has anyone else received this email? My stomach is in knots. Is this an unusual response? For anyone who has received this same response, how long afterwards did you receive your decision? Was it approved or rejected? Need some reassurance, as my anxiety is through the roof. I thought I read somewhere that this was simply a method of them fobbing you off as they are backlogged in Sheffield?
I did have an issue with previous NHS history, however I was assured by the Department of Health that this wouldn't be a problem and included communications with 3 different NHS bodies to show that repayment was attempted but not a possibility. Praying and hoping and wishing this isn't a rejection. I've been 7 months without my husband, homeless, unemployed, and living out of a suitcase. Just desperately want to get home
*Applied in Toronto, Canada on April 13 for reference; Priority application.

Looks like a form, fob-off letter to me. I wouldn't read anything into it, and I certainly wouldn't try to compare your situation to anyone else's. Your case is uniquely about you, and any problems that anyone else has had have absolutely zero relevance to you. And I doubt it has anything to do with routine use of the NHS either - at most they might send you a bill, but I doubt there is even a mechanism to do that.

Maybe this is why your application is not straightforward

Was there another visa, or some other legitimate explanation for how SHynes came to be in the UK "for the better part of the decade"?

Would that make my application not straightforward? :/ Would think if I had been allowed entry 20+ times in the past few years it would be positive as that's how we're maintaining our relationship and they're not looking at me as a high risk entrant. And I would imagine it wouldn't be uncommon for many of us to have previous work visas for the uk? Honestly don't know how this all works from an immigration outlook, hope it doesn't count against me

Re: "Application Not Straightforward"
"The better part of a decade" seems inconsistent with this post which refers only to a Tier 5 visa (upto 2 years), and a six month visit.
Was there another visa, or some other legitimate explanation for how SHynes came to be in the UK "for the better part of the decade"?

And there have been several years of "visits"; in previous posts I referred to one specifically in terms of NHS use while not on a visa that's all.
Hope that clarifies things for you both!!
Again, would simply having a previous history of living in the uk count against me?

Re: "Application Not Straightforward"
Please I will like someone to help. I receive this message from Home office last week concerning my settlement visa which has complete 3 month of submission
Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.
Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.
We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.
I will like to know to do next?
Emma

Re: "Application Not Straightforward"
on what day was your biometrics? And where have you applied from? I heard many people get this email it’s not necessarily means that your application is complicated or it’s a refusal. It’s there way of buying more time so don’t be disheartened.
