Engineering in HK
Good afternoon Gents!
My partner has just had her application approved for a 6 month secondment starting in September 2014 to Hong Kong (she is a lawyer).
I am planning to join her to broaden my cultural experiences, and my company have agreed to give me a career break for the time that I'm away.
I have applied for a working holiday VISA, which as long as they have not reached their quota yet I am hoping I will have no problems attaining.
I currently work in Engineering, as a Project/Production Control Manager for a subcontract machining and fabrication company, working in heavily regulated industries such as subsea, oil and gas and nuclear. I am looking for work in HK that has at least some tie back to my main career; I was wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge of this industry? I am searching and using as many contact as I can get my hands on, but any help is appreciated!
For reference, I will be living in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island
Thanks in advance for any help!
Thanks,
Tom.
