Shipping Insurance - exclusions of certain valuables
We are sorting out shipping our belongings to Canada and for insurance they are saying they can't cover any electronic goods (ipads, cameras, speakers, etc) or fine jewelry. I was just wondering if this is normal practice to exclude so much?

Things such as you have described, apart from speakers, went with us on the plane. We put as much as we could in a small suitcase, 1 per person, as hand luggage. The rest went with us as extra baggage.

Don't use the shipping agents insurance.. get your own privately (Letton Percival are often recommended... ) https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Shipp...nada#Insurance
Depending on the volume of goods you are bringing, have you considered sending belongings by air cargo - my son bought his laptop, computer and other belongings for less than it would have cost to ship them by sea (insurance is also cheaper). https://www.airtransat.com/en-GB/Tra.../Baggage/Cargo

And I also carried a document case of all that stuff I didn’t want to lose - birth certificates, house documents etc
