Gaining employment from outside Canada to get Vias
Hi guys, after my last post, have been looking at the possibility of gaining a job offer so I can get a visa for Canada.
Does anyone know what is the best way to go about this? as I think it will be very hard to go this route!
I am a Diesel fitter by trade and was taken on by a rail company 12 years ago to look after the diesel locos but they were phased out and now work on DC electric trains, will the lack of work on diesel units hamper me? even though that was my trade for 14 years?
Any thoughts, help, advice gladly received!
Steve

As far as I know there are no electrified railways in Canada, other than subways and commuter trains, and there are not too many of them. The main railway systems use diesel locomotives so, given your experience, that appears to be the route you should follow, unless your skills are not up-to-date.
