Can thongs can define your lifestyle?..

Re: Can thongs can define your lifestyle?..
I can do cheaper than that...I got mine free when I went for a $15 pedicure 2 years ago in Canada. Still wear them around the house. My other "dress" thongs cost $5 from K-Mart in Florida in 2004.

Now you know me, I try to embrace all things Australian but I just can't wear thongs. Having a bit of sweaty plastic rubbing between my toes until there is no skin left just doesn't make sense to me. So it is Crocs for me - $40 for the genuine article, $15 for imitations.

I'm with you, can't wear thongs.
I have a pair of sandals instead, cost me $20 and I've had them since I arrived in July 2006. I won't spend more than $30 on shoes (or clothes or anything really unless it's for something really special. )

I'm coming to the conclusion that we have spent thousands getting ourselves over here and then spending naff all on footwear and probably clothing as well...by God people...we are becoming Australian

I've always been the same - maybe I should have been Australian all along!

I wouldn't be without my thongs
I have all kinds of different ones, from real 'cheapies' for the house, which are the most comfortable...with glittery butterflies on etc.
I also have silver ones, sort of 'strappy'
And brownish ones with a lot of 'bling' ....which I just bought in Adelaide.

Rubber thongs have to be plain, one coloured, have spent anything from $5.00 to $50.00 (dont tell sean that though please!!) have convinced him they all came from k-mart in the sale!!
I also have a number of dressier ones, with stones, shells n shit like that on them but they're not as comfortable as the rubber ones, and usually leave me with blisters :curse:
Managed to get Sean to wear a pair, cheap as chips, think they we're under $5.00 in the sale, i convinced him that he COULD get used to them and that they were ideal for the beach/garden (sorry yard ) he doesn't wear them often, and it takes him at least an hour to walk *properly* in 'em
Youngest daughter wont wear anything from k-mart so her thongs tend to be a little more expensive (unless i remove the Big W tag before she sees 'em)
Personally speaking i love crocs, they are soooo comfortable, but well they aren't the most attrctive footwear in the world, hence i only own one pair and neither Sean or the kids will be seen with me when im wearing them

I hate thongs- really uncomfortable and blister making.
Does that mean I would not be allowed to live in Perth?
They do not seem to be de rigeur here in Melbourne- we have an array of footwear on display (incl bare feet)

Na. You can go barefoot in Perth if you don't wear thongs.

I have one pair of brown havaianas, think they were around $20 and I wear them virtually ALL the time - love them they are sooo comfy and I will never buy another brand again!
Had them over 18 months and they are still going strong and not trashed!

I could never wear thongs in the UK, hated the bar between the toe. You're hard pressed to find me in anything else now - they must have softer bars here
