Aye, we can be smug now and for as long as the boom lasts (predictions are this is a super cycle and I will be retired by then anyway) but if there is a global slump we will be begging the eastern states for help, those of us that remain. So I reckon we should enjoy it while we can

Great news. I just need another 5 years and I'm done.

I was reading an article about the seam gas that is going to be shipped out of Gladstone. There is so much of it there that it is going to last into the next century. Insane. Countries that can maintain a nett energy output are going to be okay.

I can't comment on Perth - as Melbourne has always been our choice - quite simply cos I have family there !
