absolutely, my reverse cycle is blasting out above my head as I type. I have washing overflowing from the laundry baskets and I even wore socks with my thongs to drive the kids to school today

The rain is forecast to stop late Saturday and get back into the 20C's by Tuesday.

My fingers are numb - now I remember why I left this place first time round. I hate the cold. I'm sure the kids will get a bit of a shock to go back to heat when we get to Dubai later in the month.

Its been no better North of Perth.

Finally today its not bloomin raining. I cant remember it being this cold last year.

Ive just bough elec blankets for the kids beds! Hubby cant believe this as he thought Australia was hot all year round.

When does spring start?

I feel like that I've gone back to the early 1970s.

We've now got hot water bottles.

How people can ever accept such crap houses I'll never know.

So in a way you have really gone forward, Perth is usually in the 1940’s, make the most of the 70’s while you can. lol

Why do they not have central heating here in OZ?

I could kill for some radiators in all the rooms
Radiators were not that expensive in B&Q.

As for open plan its losing its charm now its winter.

I've said this many times but many Australians think that houses need to have no insulation, poor glazing and gaps in the doors to allow the heat out in summer and that the price to pay is cold houses in winter!

We're lucky that the house we're renting is brand-new. It's got insulation as well a fully ducted reverse cycle air-con. Only need it on for about an hour in the evenings (after 8pm). And the nice doona I bought in the sales keeps us warm at night.

The house we're building will also have insulation and double-glazing. We'll definitely be toasty warm in there
