How to take money for 4 months in Australia
My parents are going in November for 4 months in Australia and a month in NZ.
Can anyoneone reccomend the best wasy of taking their money with them-they're travelling by campervan from Cairns down to NSW and Victoria.
Are the Travel Money cards worth getting or would they be best just bringing their bank debit and credit cards with them?
thanks in advance for your replies.

Personally I just use my normal debit and credit cards whenever I travel.

You can get pre-loaded cards in a range of currencies from some travel exchanges - you get a lightly higher rate than standard cash exchanges, saves you carrying cash, and no foreign usage fees from normal bank cards

I think your parents will need to be fully aware of any and all charges the credit card company imposes for overseas transactions.
My CBA credit card charges $5 for each transaction plus 3% overseas transaction fee, plus you get gouged by the banks punitive conversion rate.
Are you in Australia or do your parents have any relatives or close friends here ?
If they have, then it might be possible to transfer funds into a rello's account and have the rello apply for an additional access card to give to your parents.
...it's times like this when you find out who your real friends are

I just got back from a month overseas and had pre-loaded a Travelex card with 4 different currencies. Easy peasy.

My bro visits Aus for 6 months every year and swears by Caxton FX cards.
