COSTS OF EXCHANGING POUNDS TO DOOLARS
Can anyboby tell me if there is a significant charge for changing pound to aus dollars? if so is the charge greater for larger amounts say, proceeds from the sale of a property or savings. can anyone reccomend an exchange company as our CO keeps sending us HIFX info, anyone had dealings with these.cheers

Hi we used HI FX and it wasnt to bad, they did what we asked, so what more can you want. They do a good few options, it all depends on how quick you want your money.
Plan ahead with the money thing. We left it in a UK savings account, thinking no problem getting it over. Then we found our house pretty quick and I think we lost out getting it over instantly

If you use OZFOREX and mention you are a member of British Expats forum you should get a better rate of exchange.
