Australian Airports - Industrial action by Immigration staff

Re: Australian Airports - Industrial action by Immigration staff
I must just be lucky but I've never had an issue at a US airport! Granted, I haven't transited which may be the worst of it. Just came back, went through Newark, JFK, O'Hare, Midway, Oakland and LAX all of them pretty much wait free and efficient. TSA staff can certainly be a bit blunt but definitely not any worse than the rottweilers that work at MEL customs and immigration!

Never had a problem there but LAX.....
Walking into Terminal 1 to get a South West flight to Oakland and I thought we'd been teleported to Lagos or Bombay - a 3rd world airport in a 1st world country
Detroit felt like an overcrowded bus station

I'd heard that airport security staff in the US were very intimidating, so was pleasantly surprised with the courteous service at JFK. But Chicago - I got roared at by a huge bloke standing over me. I think my head hit the ceiling, I jumped so high! Scary dude!

I can report leaving Sydney outside the strike times was easy yesterday. Not looking forward to coming back in during strike times.
