Not since 2011. I'm not from England, I'm originally from Canada. However my partner's family all live in England quite happily.
I've got family in Canada, very happy there. Where I live is very fast paced, myself and my wife are lucky to earn good money, we have lots of equity in our house too. The reason for going is the weather, better opportunities for our children, this country isn't investing in our youngster's. Also my wife is Slovakia and has no emotional ties to England, where she is from is beautiful (Zuberec). Very slow paced though and not for me, winter can go to -30.

Actually have a house in Melbourne and commute once a week to Sydney from Auckland.

So reasonably well versed in all

If there is one thing that you will get lots of unanimous comments on regarding children and better opportunities, it is that it is a myth.

What do you think Australia is doing for young people? Youth unemployment is about the same. Both charge a lot for higher education. Both have pretty much the same issues - though stats suggest drug issues are bigger in Oz.

The flip side is being in Oz means no extended family, difficult to access international travel - certainly no popping to Europe. A much smaller bowl when it comes to employers and careers.
