Default Aus Visa, accounting.

Hi all,

If I was to become a fully qualified accountant, would I be granted a visa without work experience?

If you pass a skills assessment, meet all of the other criteria and accountants are still on the skills list then yes, you would possibly be granted a visa.

Thanks for your reply Dorothy, have you any experience of this, or is this from the guidelines?
Kind regards

Having a visa and working are two different things

For a recent accounting job we had over 2000 applicants

Two things you need to be aware of.

First, accounting is a capped occupation, which means invites to apply are sent on points basis. So, only those with high point scores are invited. Something, without experience you are unlikely to have.

Second, because there is an over supply of accountants, there is a good likelihood it will be removed from the list.

Why not? My family did it 11 years ago. Living somewhere is very different to visiting or backpacking around.

Not since 2011. I'm not from England, I'm originally from Canada. However my partner's family all live in England quite happily.
