Di,
I feel so bad. Take a deep breath and relax!! Look, just crank out the adjustments and send off again. Don't give into it or you will lose all interest. Most of the work is done, I will email you! As you know David is a carpenter and we passed so I can do this thing in my sleep at this stage. basically as far as I can tell they just need the apprenticeship or the lowdown on how he initially trained as a carpenter, no specialisations!! That just entails what he worked on first and foremost for example the way he was taught to use the basic tools, down to learning about timber, onto calculations and measurements, then the practical side of things like projects that he worked on EG: sash windows, staircases, gates, and then moved onto 1st fix and second fix. It wont take much to fix, seriously! As far as I can tell some people do fail because they didn't go into the training/apprenticeship enough in detail.
Please come out on Thursday. Don't lose hope, we are all there to support you!!!!!!!!! I will give you a ring when I get a chance. Hang in there, it's NOT a problem, just a hiccup

I know it is very hard. Try to keep the chin up. You should have a few bevvies tonight and then try to get that TRA out as soon as possible while it is all still fresh with you. I hope we will see you on Thursday.
Cheers

Hi Everyone,
Thanks Di for having that G&T for me,it was scrummy. My God ,it must have been a great night,no one has been on here since. I think there must be a lot of major hangovers or a lot of second thoughts. I do hope that you all enjoyed yourselves, but I'm still waiting for all the gossip.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry have not replied!! Yes, we all had a good time. Great fun. Definitely think the next meet up will be for Yvonne's visa - its got to be any day now. Di - give me a shout if theres anything you need for the TRA. Think I may have to investigate the "bunnies", O' Connell street isn't it??????
My application is not getting sent off til Monday now. There is a price hike on Saturday (have to pay that!! ) and my agent just wants to make sure that everything is kosher regarding some new rules/ regs that have been put in place. I don't know what they are as David talked to her and just gave me a quick call!! I'll find out for anyone who needs to know.

Hi all,
Well I never would have guessed my thread was still going. Havn't logged on for a while and here you all are even organising a night out!!!!
We have just received an email saying our TRA has been received by the ACS but that processing can take up to 10 weeks!!! Is this correct? If so it leaves us in a bit of a pickle as my wife turns 30 end of June and if we havn't applied for the visa by then we will drop 5 points.
Also I read a few people say their visa application took 4 1/2 months. Is that from date of application of the skills assessment or from the date of the actual visa application?
Thanks in advance. Great to see loads of other Irish in the same boat. I never would have guessed so may Irish had logged in here....

Thanks for starting this thread..karma sent! As a result I've met some really cool people and more meets planned
When we sent in our TRA although it said in the letter to allow up to 10 weeks we actually got a response in 3 (sadly for us a negative one ) but we're getting the second one ready now and are confident this time around we'll get it Where are you headed and what part of Ireland are you leaving behind?
All the best

The visa countdown only starts when you get your acknowledgement of your application unfortunately. Even if you do loose points for your wife's age there are ways of gaining bonus points so dont worry to much.good luck with the TRA.
