There are three categories of business immigrants:



Investor

Investors must demonstrate:

  • business experience
  • a legally obtained minimum net worth of CAN $800,000

They must make an investment of at least CAN $400,000 in Canada.


Entrepreneur

Canada wants to attract experienced people who will run businesses that contribute to the Canadian economy and create jobs for Canadian residents.

Entrepreneurs must demonstrate:

  • business experience
  • a minimum legally obtained net worth of CAN $300,000

They have to meet various conditions after they have arrived in Canada.


Self-employed person

Self-employed persons are required to have:

  • experience that will enable them to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada, or
  • the experience, intention and ability to buy and run a farm in Canada
