Strategically located within 45km of Brisbane, Caboolture Shire is positioned on major transportation routes that lead to Brisbane International Airport, Port of Brisbane as well as north, south and west Queensland. Extending from Brisbane to North Queensland, the Bruce Highway passes directly through Caboolture Shire and is supported by a commuter rail link to Brisbane that aids labour force movement and the transport/distribution of products and raw materials.
One of Australia's fastest growing and most forward-looking Local Government areas, the Shire holds considerable opportunity for the establishment, growth and investment of local business. Huge population increases have resulted in impressive economic growth and a vibrant local economy. Land remains affordable, as a skilled workforce is resident and established infrastructure makes Caboolture an ideal location for industry.
Designated as a Principal Activity Centre, the main retail and commercial area is located in Morayfield. Industrial estates exist at Caboolture and Narangba and companies such as Packer Leather take advantage of excellent and cost-effective facilities. Other industries also take advantage of the region's infrastructure such as chemical manufacturing, oil recycling, pet food manufacturing and timber treatment companies.
The region also boasts many beautiful geographical features, including the golden sand beaches of Bribie Island, the foreshores of Moreton Bay as well as coastal wetland areas and river estuaries. To the west, the D'Aguilar Ranges are cloaked in native forests and the rolling agricultural land that supports beef, dairy, goats and exotic animals such as alpaca and deer. A large number of produce farms grow pineapples and strawberries. In fact the Shire is the largest producer of strawberries in Queensland.
Education and training are well provided for by many excellent high schools, a TAFE campus and various private training organisations. The Queensland University of Technology has established a campus that offers students a range of studies from the faculties of Arts, Business, Education, Social Science, Creative Industries and Information Technology.
The Shire's high population growth rate has created a construction industry which is racing to keep pace with demand for affordable housing. Related sectors, such as real estate and building supplies are also experiencing growth and the wide choice of housing and commercial space available is as diverse as the types of residents and industries that are attracted here.
An attractive mix of urban residential, coastal and rural acreage property has attracted investors from across the nation. Caboolture's house and land packages are some of the most affordable in south-east Queensland, and attract first home buyers who have been priced out of the Brisbane market. Exclusive real estate also exists; most notably in the canal estates of Bribie and rural-residential areas elsewhere in the Shire.
Significant investment over the years has seen Caboolture's medical, education and retail infrastructure significantly grow and currently there is a further $100 million being spent on retail development across the Shire.
