Bundy may be just a small town on the Coral Coast but it's famous in Australia for its rum and ginger beer.
It's a good hike up the coast through extensive plantations of sugar cane, but once there, a world of adventure awaits.
Bundy's a great place to start an island hop along the southern extent of the Great Barrier Reef. Or you can high-tail it by 4WD into one of 8 National Parks for a little wilderness camping, or even fish-camp on a deserted coral cay.
From November until end March, tourists flock to the place, hoping to time their visit with the nightly hatchings (and of course egg laying activity) of turtles at Mon Repos Turtle Rookery.
