The 'Australian dollar' (sign: $; code: AUD) is the currency of the Commonwealth of Australia. In Australia it is abbreviated with the dollar sign and sometimes A$. It is a decimal currency and $1 is divided into 100¢.
The currency is used by Australia, Ashmore and Cartier Islands, Christmas Island, Australian Antarctic Territory, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Coral Sea Islands and Heard Island and McDonald Islands. The currency is also unofficially used in Kiribati, Nauru and Tuvalu.
