Default Tilers wanted in OZ

I am currently being assessed on my tiling for an NVQ which I hope will provide evidence that I have undergone Informal Training for 900 hours as I trained full time for two years and since then I have worked for 3 years with another company. Does anyone know if my nvq will count as informal training?

Hi, the only problem is that you would need to have served 5-6 years in an informal apprenticeship to get approved under pathway b, even with an NVQ and proof of 900 hours structured training! Here's a link http://www.australia-migration.com/page/Trades_TRA/262and also check out the application form on the Trades Recognition Australia website and you'll see what I mean. My husband is in a similar situation, trained for 2 or 3 years with a company, then been self-employed for about 17 years, checked out getting assessed here for an NVQ and found that wouldn't do it, and the only way was to go out there, get assessed for an AQF III (Australian equivalent to NVQ2 or 3) and apply through pathway E. Check it out with a migration agent though, but I did look into it pretty thoroughly.
