Default Metal fabricators/welders in VIC

Does anyone in the fabrication industry know if there's much work in Victoria at the moment? They've agreed to sponsor me but I don't know what the work situation's like right now. I know I could look on job search sites but I've always had a mistrust of recruitment agents, I think a lot of the jobs they post are bogus and don't give an accurate representation of the work situation. Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

John
