Financial Advisors

Hi There

My family and I are planning to move to Canada(application been in about a year) within the next two years, I am a self employed Independent financial and mortgage consultant here (scotland uk).

I was wondering if any one new how hard it was to get in to the same line of work in Canada? probably leaning more towards Mortgage Broker although I have purchased The securities course books.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Danny

Hi Danny,

To work in that field in Ontario you will need to take the canadian qualifications. Life insurance in particular has a series of exams to take, and I think financial advisers have to too. My neightbour has been trying (and failing) for a while now, at about $500 a go if memory serves!
