Compliance Specialist - Financial Services
Hello,
I am new to the site but not to the subject matter and would welcome any thoughts on my job situation.
I work in the compliance field and have almost 7 years experience. I undertook a law degree at university in London, which I passed and successfully completed law school - again in London. In short I would die for the opportunity to work in the US in my chosen professional. I lived in the US (NYC) almost a decade ago in my early 20's on a J-1 visa, I visit regularly and have a sister who now lives there (H1-B).
I know that my skills are transferable, especially with Compliance being such an in demand role at the moment. I have long given up on the recruiters and posting of resumes on certain job sites. I realised that networking was the way to go but wondered if anybody with a similar background or experience could let me know, based on my background whether any opportunities would work for me in the US and whether there is a trick I'm missing here. I know getting into the US is incredibly difficult but its not impossible. In terms of locale - NY/NY/PA/CHIC/LA/SF AND TX is preferable. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Laurena

Can't help with your question much but have you considered posting in the USA section - might get a response there
Good luck
