Re: Civil Engineer

Jap, civil engineer here. Working for a global consultant in Queensland.

Business here is very difficult at the moment. Probably all (bigger) companies have stopped recruitment at all (e.g. Maunsell stops recruitment for the next year!).

Next problem .... companies will probably refuse to sponsor your visa (e.g. 457) and things have changed! Now, it is a employers market, means lower salaries and same ridicilous conditions in Oz like before the market boom.

Not a good time to come to Oz as civil eng. except you have extraordinary knowledge in a very particular field ...

Cheers
Frank

Hi Frank,

I don't need sponsorship, I will have 175 visa.I understand that civil projects stopped but roads, bridges, infrastructure in general???????????
I also work for a international consultancy firm as resident engineer.
I also see many(not so many as before) jobs on internet. To understand thet the market is full with civil engineers?

Cheers
