Bricklayers in Melbourne

My brother in law is currently living and working as a brickie in Perth and he is considering moving to Melbourne. He has asked me to ask you lot on here wheather he needs a licence to work as a brickie in Melbourne.

I know this thread is nearly a year old! But do Bricklayers need a licence to work in Oz? If so where can i get more info on this?? Thanks all:):)
