Hi Janann

Welcome to BE.

Sorry I can't answer your question, which is why I am going to recommend you check out our Australia forum, where you can chat with expats who are living and working in Perth as someone will be able to advise you.
You will find the Oz forum by clicking the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page. Scroll down the list of countries, double click on Australia and you're in.
There are plenty of folks from Perth posting on there, and there is also an immigration forum worth reading.

Have a great trip and all then best with your plans

Hi and welcome to BE! if you repost your questions in the Australian immigration board you will get much more specific advice there. A down and dirty, based on what little you said about yourself here, a "work permit" in Australia does not exist separately from a visa (as everyone needs a visa to enter), and you can be sponsored for one while you stay there. Work around the sister's house would probably not qualify as "work", so even if you go there on a tourist visa it should be OK.
