Visa & job advice New Zealand

Hi

Myself and my husband are looking to move to New Zealand without young son. We were advised that securing a job offer in our current line of work would enable us to have an open work visa. So far we have had no luck applying for jobs from the UK. Another option is to go over on a holiday and try and apply for jobs whilst we are over? Just wondered if anyone had been in through this?

Thank you

Hi Sarah and welcome to BE

best off speaking to the NZ bunch New Zealand - British Expats

but first off please give a but more info when posting there as they will need to know what type of job you are after, ages and qualifications. technically coming over on a holiday visit and looking for work is not really the done thing but lots of people do do it you just have to not let customs know that is what you are doing as some jobs worth may not let you in. Its a grey area with the Governing agencies knowing it happens but they have not got a formal response as to what to do if people are found to be doing it.
