Default Soon to be new to Abu Dubai!

Hi! I have lived in the UK since my birth and whilst I have traveled abroad, myself and my family are taking the huge leap of moving to Abu Dubai. (August 2014) I will be working at the IAT - female campus. We have two children who can attend international schools - Can anyone advise us on family friendly areas of Dubai to search for accommodation. We have been told a flat would be cheaper than a villa, but would we be able to get a 3 bedroom flat for around 8-10,000 dirhams per month? Also are there any things you would advise that we BRING from the home (UK). My husband said he thought mobile phones maybe expensive in Dubai, I was planning on updating my once we got there.....any advice on how much an average family pays for bills to?

Welcome to BE and good luck!

The ME section would be the place to go, loads of info there and the wiki is also a good starting point.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Do check out the Middle East section, won't you. Not sure if it's your autocorrect kicking in but maybe clarify in that section if you are moving to Abu Dhabi or Dubai. They are in different emirates.

Aha good detective work Jerseygirl . Not much point in asking about Dubai then. Both very different places, or they were when I went there...mind you that was donkey's years ago.
