Default Passort expired!

Hi there...I am a british citizen living in Iran at the moment. My passport has expired and the British Embassy is closed right now due to political reasons. Does anyone know whether I am still allowed to travel to UK or not? Even though my passport has expired!

You are more likely to have problems from the Iranian authorities than trouble with the UK. Most airlines will refuse boarding if your passport has expired.

Renewal is no longer through the Embassy but is handled directly by a Government Office in the UK.

You get a new passport online, you do not go to the embassy.
