Post Newbie - Moving to Canada

Hello everyone. Me and my girlfriend are in the process of moving to Canada. We live in Bradford, UK. I work for Northern Gas Networks as a Gas Technician. We have an Immigration lawyer helping us. We have applied for loads of jobs but didn't really get anywhere because I am technically not a qualified Gas Technician until I have taken the exam with TSSA.

Currently I am revising for my G2 License exam from TSSA in Ontario. We have been invited to sit the Theory first of all, but TSSA won't commit to me been able to sit the Practical at the same time. I have bought all the books to revise for the theory and I have joined this site to see if there is anyone who has took these exams? I would like to have a little idea of what to expect especially with the practical exam. Also if anyone has any info on any websites that can help me with revision?

My girlfriend is coming with me along with our dog Charlie. He is a chocolate Labrador has anyone on here moved with a large animal? If yes, we would really appreciate some tips or advice on how that was.

Also we would love to here your stories about the move. We are so excited to start our new life in Canada and really appreciate any advice anyone has for us.

Thank you

Hi and welcome to BE. Congratulations on your impending emigration to Canada. Lovely country. I'm in the US but I married a Canuck 18 years ago and he came to the US to live. He had had enough of snow

Please wander on over the Canadian forums and have a go at your question there. Lots of helpful people who are sure to be kind and helpful.

The Welcome Forum is really just to introduce yourself, which you have, and now you can go forth and question
