Newbie
Hi Everyone
I'm new to the site - moving in the next couple of months to France with my husband and Border Terrier who's no stranger to the country.
Planning on renting first then buying
Looking forward to being part of the community.
All the best.

Re: Newbie
Good morning and welcome to BE.
Sounds like a wonderful destination is in store for you and hubby and your lovely pup. Renting before buying would be my first option, as well. Feel the area out and discover what it is exactly you want before plonking down the money to purchase.
After a read of the forum rules, please have a go at the France subforum which is perfect for your needs. Both are linked below.
Happy moving!

Re: Newbie
As suggested, post again in the France forum, giving us an idea of the area where you'll be moving to, also whether you'll be working (salaried or self-employed), seeking work, "inactive" or retired - your healthcare insurance depends on your employment status.
Good idea to rent first, so that you're sure you like the area before buying. Property takes a long time to sell if you realise you've made a mistake....
