New Member (UK to Australia)

Hello,

I am a newbie!

My husband and I are hoping to move to Western Australia in April 2019. He has been offered a position (initially 6 months trial) with a subclass 400 VISA.

I am browsing the Aussie forums for advice on:
- jobs for UK qualified lawyers in Australia
- extending the subclass 400 visa
- life & cost of living in Australia
- when, and if, we move our 2 beloved cats to Australia.

Looking forward to 'meeting' you all!

You cannot move to Aus on a 400. It is only issued for 3 months, with a possible extension for another 3. After that you need to leave.
If your husband is on a 400 you cannot work.
Before looking seriously at cost of living and the horrific cost of transporting cats, you need to work out what visa you are going to get that will enable you to stay longer
And its a visa, even if its paid for with a VISA card :)

Your husband should find out what kind of visa his employer is planning to sponsor him for if he is taken on permanently. You’ll likely need to stay in the UK whilst he’s on a 400.
