Smile New member intro

Hello.
Two years ago I married a Hungarian lady. We live in England but plan to retire in Hungary in a few years time.
We have bought a small house near to the Danube about 20 miles from Budapest. My wife is from Budapest so although I only know a few words of Hungarian, communicating is not a problem. We visit Budapest four times each year at present, during which we are trying to arrange for our house to be updated and readied to live in.We have several projects in mind and I am hoping to get valuable advice from those with experience of living in Hungary.
I look forward to speaking with you in the future. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.
Thanks.

Hello and a warm welcome to BE. I've only spent a few weeks in Budapest but I absolutely loved it - such beautiful architecture and wonderfully friendly people.

If you want to chat with other Brits who live in Hungary, head over to our Hungary site here Hungary - British Expats It's always helpful and reassuring to talk with people who've 'been there and done that'.

Please have a look at the BE site rules when you get a chance, they make using the forum easier for all. If you have any site related problems our friendly moderators will be pleased to assist - their names are in the lower right hand corner of each index page.

Best of luck to you and your wife for a lovely future in Hungary.
