Default New to California

Hello

My name's Emily, I'm 27 years old and in the process of moving to California to live with my fiance on a ranch near Salinas. I met him when I came out here to do a horse training course last year and everything has just clicked together and fallen into place since then.
I love my horses and other animals, hiking and good food and wine. I'd love to meet up with similar people, even to chat if you're not in the same area. I'm finding moving abroad quite daunting, especially when just coming back from being at my parents home (England) for Christmas and New Year. Would love to meet some fellow Brits to chat to.

Thanks

Emily

Welcome to BE and congrats on the upcoming wedding and the move!

There's plenty of folks on BE in CA, though no idea how close they might be to your location, but more are a good bunch if you have a look around the US forums

Meetup.com and FB are also a great way to meet folks too

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Thanks guys.
I'll post something in the meet-ups board as I know there must be some Brits around here and I miss my fellow countrymen and women greatly - nothing like a pint and some dry humour to keep the homesickness at bay....

Hi Emily

First of all welcome to BE from me too, and congrats on your up and coming wedding - it must be an exciting time, but I can understand it can be a bit daunting too.
I see you have posted in the USA forum so I am sure it won't be long before you're chatting with some other expats in California. We all need that little bit of a 'Brit fix' from time to time, and finding other expats in your area will certainly help you make some British friends along the way.

In the meantime I wish you all the very best with your up and coming weddding and all the best in your new home
