Hi everybody. I'm Gareth. My family and I are in the process of trying to move to perth. I have friends already living here and this is the basis on us moving here to help us settle a little better. I'm a plumbing and heating engineer with gas qualifications. Also looking into learning about renewable energies like solar panels etc. my wife ( Michelle ) is in banking having worked from a cashier,mortgage advisor and then in a testing role at head office. ( I'm not sure what that means either but it pays well and she's respected. ) We have two daughters who are Jessica 5 and Ruby 2&1/2. This is something we've discussed for a few years and finally it looks like we may be making it happen. It's mostly about our children's future but we would love a better way of life with sunshine and beaches and good wine. Any help or advice would be fantastic. We're from manchester hope that doesn't offend anyone. Haha. Thanks.

I visited WA in 2007 and I thought it incredibly beautiful. I have always had a little fantasy about moving there one day so I can quite see why you would like to give it a go! Brilliant ages to move your kids too

One little bit of advice: BE is a busy forum and the Australia section in particular is quite active and has lots of members with lots of opinions; a particularly popular discussion subject is bantering about the merits and otherwise of different parts of Australia, so take it all with a pinch of salt
