Default Moving to New Zealand

Hi everyone, we are looking at emigrating to New Zealand within 18 months, my other half has got a job that he can go to but we are a bit confused about the visas, we thought we could all come over on his sponsored visa but have since learned this isn't the case, the rest of the family have to apply for our own visa, can anyone give us any advice as the paperwork is giving my a headache

Hi, we have just moved to NZ after an 18 month journey. My partner applied under the skilled migrant category as an electrician. He got all of his qualifications approved by EWRB in Wellington and then looked for a job. Found a job got the police checks and we all have permanent residents visas with him as the main applicant.
Is this any help? Feel free to ask questions.
Cheers

Welcome to BE.

As this forum is purely for new members to introduce themselves you would be best to post your questions and information in one of our NZ forums.

If you follow the link below it will take you to the main index page of the NZ forums. At the top of the page you will see a link to the NZ Immigration Forum...all questions regarding visas should be posted in that forum. General questions about NZ should be posted in the Main NZ forum. The Sheep Dip forum is for chit chat.

Once again welcome.

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
